Dodge Challenger Powertrain

Dodge Challenger PowertrainWhen you start the ignition of the Dodge Challenger, it’ll roar to life with the power of whichever powertrain you choose. You’ll get to pick from five different engines, all of which bring something a bit different:

  • 3.6L Pentastar® V6: 305 horsepower, 268 lb-ft of torque
  • 5.7L HEMI® V8: 375 horsepower, 410 lb-ft of torque
  • 392 HEMI® V8: 485 horsepower, 475 lb-ft of torque
  • 6.2L HEMI® Hellcat Supercharged V8: 717 horsepower, 650 lb-ft of torque
  • 6.2L HEMI® Hellcat Redeye Supercharged V8: 797 horsepower, 707 lb-ft of torque

The Challenger R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and SRT® Hellcat trim levels pair their engines with a TREMEC® 6-speed manual transmission that keeps you completely in control of your shift schedules.

However, if you want the optimized performance of an automatic, all V6 engines and the Hellcat Redeye trim come with the TorqueFlite® 8-speed automatic transmission. This transmission includes a manual-shift mode that allows you to change gears on-demand using available steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

With a performance-inspired electronic shifter, you’ll experience smooth transfers, short throws, and low shift effort as you traverse the open highway and whip around the track.

Performance Features for the 2019 Challenger

With the 2019 Dodge Challenger, performance is a top priority, playing a role in every element of this car, including its nearly 50-50 weight distribution. Along with a rear-wheel drivetrain (RWD), this helps to enhance acceleration, even taking you from 0-60 MPH in approximately four seconds with the 392 HEMI® V8 engine.

Dodge Challenger PerformanceYou can also personalize your experience with three different drive modes: Track, Sport, and Street. Based on what you need your Challenger to do, these modes adjust your transmission, traction, suspension, steering, and more, to optimize your performance.

You’ll also have your choice of four different braking systems:

  • Sport Brake System
  • Performance Brake system
  • Brembo® 4-Piston Brake System
  • Brembo® 6-Piston Brake System

These include features like performance brake linings that reduce brake fade, so that you know you can count on your brakes when you need them most.

Exterior Design

Just as important as performance and engine specs, the exterior design of the 2019 Dodge Challenger is sure to make a great impression. From its full-width rear LED split taillamps to the Air-Catcher® Headlamps, this car is built to race.

You’ll have 13 available exterior colors to paint with, including Plum Crazy, F8 Green, B5 Blue, and Octane Red. You can also make your mark with accents like the:

  • Bumblebee Stripe
  • SRT® Twin Racing Stripe
  • Blacktop® Stripe
  • Hellcat Badge
  • R/T Badge and Stripe

Top it all off with four different hoods that make your Challenger your own. These include the SRT® Dual Snorkel Hood with its cold air intake, or the R/T Scat Pack hood with dual air extractors.
