Ram 2500 Tradesman Engine Specs

The 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman trim comes with your choice between a gas or diesel engine. The gas engine is a 6.4L HEMI® V8 that delivers 410 horsepower. If you need even more heft, you can go for the available 6.7L Cummins® turbo diesel I-6 engine. This generates 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque.

You can pair these with either a 6-speed automatic transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. You’ll also have your choice between 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive.

2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman Towing and Towing Tech

When properly equipped, the Ram 2500 Tradesman can tow a maximum of 19,780 pounds. It features a variety of towing technologies designed to help make hitching your trailer and hitting the road even more convenient.

For example, the Trailer Reverse Guidance view functionality of the available 360-degree Surround-View Camera System provides an adjustable display screen to help you line up your truck and trailer. The available Bed Lowering Mode (part of the Auto-Level Rear Air Suspension) lowers the rear suspension for easier trailer hookup.

Available Trailer Brake Control also allows you to link your trailer’s brakes with your truck’s so that you can stop everything at once.

Payload, Configurations, and Bed Options

The 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman is a versatile trim level that gives you a variety of configurations to choose from to get the most out of your truck.

Starting with the cabin, you’ll have your choice between the Regular Cab and Crew Cab. The Regular Cab is a 1-row cabin that can seat a total of two passengers. The Regular Cab is a 2-row cabin and can seat a maximum of five people.

The Crew Cab can come with either a 6-foot, 4-inch box or an 8-foot box. The Regular Cab only comes with an 8-foot box. The bed can also include the available RamBox® Cargo Management System. This places two additional storage boxes in the walls of the bed, above the rear wheels.

With this storage system, you can keep small items like tools safely tucked away while the 115-volt power outlet lets you power them and get to work when you’re out at the worksite.

Depending on your configuration, this trim can reach a maximum payload capacity of 4,050 pounds.
