3.0L EcoDiesel V6 Engine

Maybe you prefer a diesel powertrain—then you’ll want the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine. This motor has a maximum available 12,560 pounds of towing capability. Opt for this, and you’ll be able to enjoy your Formula One hobby, because you’ll have the ability to tow a racecar-hauling box trailer.

5.7L HEMI® V8 Engine

When you decide on the 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine, you’ll actually have two available options: the standard option, which is capable of towing 11,610 pounds, or the eTorque option, which offers 12,750 pounds of towing ability.

When you equip your RAM 1500 with the standard version, you’ll be able to bring along a 25-foot plus camping trailer or a large boat. If you or someone you know is into the equestrian scene, you could also bring along a two-horse trailer.

With the eTorque option, you’ll get an extra 1,140 pounds to play with. This means you can bring along all but the largest camping trailers. Or, if you fancy, you can bring a large recreational boat for some fun out on the water.

This available feature offers 60/40 split swing-away doors that can open 88 degrees, allowing you to quickly pull cargo out of your bed. It can also fold down, providing a step and a shelf capable of withstanding up to 2,000 pounds of weight.

The available Trailer Reverse Steering Control makes towing much easier. It uses a Trailer Reverse Steering Control knob located in the center stack that allows you to control your trailer’s direction as you back up to connect it to the hitch.

The 360° Surround View Camera and the Power-Fold Tow Mirrors use a 5-camera system to give you the full picture of your truck and its surroundings. It helps align your trailer to the hitch connection, making it easier to attach your trailer without having someone else guide you to it.
